Love Triangle Between Venus

Jupiter and Venus will appear very close together in the night sky in late February, near Valentine's Day, providing easy viewing for stargazers. Mars and Mercury will also be visible later in the month. Jupiter will be bright in the southwest after sunset and its four largest moons should be visible with a small telescope. Venus will hover near the crescent moon in the days after February 24th.

Love Triangle between Venus, Jupiter and Mars, just in time for Valentines Day

Jupiter and Venus Cozy Up, Just In Time For Valentines Day Stargazers are in for a treat this month as five of the X planets are visible in the night sky. Notably, Venus and Jupiter will burn brightly appearing as the first two stars to show themselves after the sun goes down. Later in the month five of the X planets will be visible in the night sky. Heres a Guide to Where & When to Look: Mars: In early February, Mars will rise in the east around 8 or 9 pma Venus: In late February (24th-26th), Venus will hover near the crescent moon right after sunset. Jupiter: Jupiter will appear high in the southwest sky and will remain visible for ~four hours after sunset. Jupiters four largest moons should be visible with a backyard telescope. Starting closest to Jupiter, these moons are named Lo, Europa, Ganymed and Callisto. Mercury: Mercury will peek over the horizon in late February as well. This dimmer planet can be located by drawing a straight line through Jupiter and Venus.
