HP DesignJet 2800 / 3800 CP SETUP INSTRUCTIONS The new HP DesignJet 2800/3800 CP is composed of a HP DesignJet 2000/3000CP Printer and a Hardware RIP (Fiery X2-CP manufactured by Electronics for Imaging). The Fiery X2-CP is a Hardware RIP optimized for high-speed communications, processing, rasterization and printing. The Fiery X2-CP includes system software that comes already loaded in the server. User software and utilities are available for Windows 95/98/NT and Macintosh platforms.

What do you need to setup your printer?


Now, you are ready to setup your HP DesignJet 2800/3800 CP. Before proceeding with the installation, check that you have the following parts: - HP DesignJet 2000/3000CP. - Fiery X2-CP Server. - Printer Interface cable. - Parallel cable. - User software and Fiery documentation. 1. System software (already preloaded in your Fiery unit) 2. User software - Fiery Spooler (path ~ \English\Instalrs\Spooler\) Fiery Spooler allows the user to monitor and manage print jobs from a Windows PC or Macintosh. - Fiery Downloader (path ~\English\Instalrs\Download\) Fiery Downloader allows user to check the status of the Fiery Server and to send fonts and files in certain file formats directly to the Fiery Server without opening another location. - Fiery Print Calibrator (path ~\English\Instalrs\Calib\) Fiery Print Calibrator enables remote calibration of the Fiery Server from desktop computers. The tools contained in Fiery Print Calibrator allow the calibration and simulation of pre-press output. Users may choose from variety of targets or design their own. - Adobe PostScript printer driver for Windows 95/98 and NT (path ~\English\Instalrs\PS_DRVR\) 3. System Software Upgrades


For future system software upgrades, please refer to Appendix A included in the Administration Guide. Although you can upgrade the system software either using the SCSI Interface Port or the parallel port, we recommend you to use the SCSI Interface Port. Note: Your Fiery server comes with a system software version already preloaded.
