With each passing week, we seem to be getting closer to finally seeing Ballie, Samsung's rolling AI companion that you may or may not find as cute as Star Wars droid BB-8.
Ballie was first unveiled all the way back in 2020, and five years later, Samsung announced at CES 2025 that it would be bringing the AI robot to market sometime this year. Earlier today, the company teased that “Ballie will make a special appearance on-stage this week,” and now, Samsung US has added an option on its website to let users sign up for updates on the robot.
No such option is visible on Samsung's website in any other country, and that's not surprising: Ballie has only been confirmed to be coming to the US this year. Samsung says it will go on sale sometime in the first half of 2025, and we may learn about a more concrete release date in the coming weeks.
Will it come to other markets anytime soon? It's impossible to say, and frankly, we're afraid to speculate from fear of jinxing the whole thing. So while you wait for more information on Ballie, check out our video below to see it rolling around and being all cutesy.
