Samsung launched the One UI 7.0 beta program for the Galaxy A55 last week. At that time, beta testing was available only for Galaxy A55 users in Korea, but today, the program has expanded to at least one more market: India.
The One UI 7 beta update for the Galaxy A55 in India carries firmware version A556EXXU7ZYD1 (via @tarunvats33). Galaxy A55 users who want to test the beta firmware can join the program through the Samsung Members app. The update may also be on its way to other markets, such as the UK and Europe.
Once you are accepted into the One UI 7 beta program, you can download the firmware by opening the Settings app on the phone, accessing Software update, and tapping Download and install.
As usual, it's highly recommended that you back up all your important data before installing beta firmware. You can find out more details about the enrollment process and the steps you're advised to take in our how-to article.
It's also worth knowing that the One UI 7 beta update for the Galaxy A55 has been limited to Wi-Fi downloads only. You can't download the beta firmware on a cellular connection, and this could become a new general rule for all Samsung devices moving forward.
Keep in mind that beta firmware is incomplete, meaning the version of One UI 7 you'll be running on the Galaxy A55 could be buggy. If your only phone is the Galaxy A55 and you rely on it to work flawlessly, you may want to avoid the beta program and wait for the stable One UI 7 update to roll out.
Samsung hasn't announced when the stable One UI 7 update will go live for the Galaxy A55. For what it's worth, stable One UI 7 is now available in Korea for devices including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
At the moment, the only way to experience the One UI 7 update on a mid-range device is to enroll in the Galaxy A55 beta or buy the new Galaxy A26, A36, or Galaxy A56. The 2025 models ship with stable One UI 7 out of the box.
