Founded with deep roots in family dedication and hard work, the company Jesus Marques & Filhos, Lda., a new member of AIP, is today an example of sustainable growth and innovation in the forestry and transport sector in Portugal. Its history dates back to 1990, when it began operating under the individual name of Fernando Jesus Ferreira, in a small facility in Poças, Matas, dedicated to the transformation of roundwood.

During the first years, production was mainly destined for the national market, with a small fraction dedicated to export to Spain. However, the active involvement of the founding couple's three children proved crucial to the expansion of the business. In 2008, with the need for modernization and the acquisition of advanced forestry machinery, the company officially became Jesus Marques & Filhos, Lda., headquartered in Vale da Rosa, Leiria, becoming a limited liability company with Fernando Jesus Ferreira as managing partner.

The company's new phase brought sustained growth on all fronts - from expanding facilities, acquiring new machinery, recruiting more employees, to assembling its own fleet of trucks. From 2010 onwards, internationalization intensified: Spain, Morocco and England began to appear on the list of export destinations, which today represent 40% of total revenue.

Recently, the company embraced a new challenge, expanding its operations to the transport sector. By using its fleet and obtaining a Transport License from IMTT, it began to offer specialized cargo transportation services, including general cargo, refrigerated cargo and open ballast transportation.

With Gil Ferreira, the founder's son, now in charge, Jesus Marques & Filhos maintains family values ​​as its foundation, focusing on continuous improvement, quality of service and environmental efficiency. The company is certified by FSC®, PEFC and ISO 9001 standards, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and responsible management of the chain of custody.

The services provided include: cutting and felling of trees, specializing in Maritime Pine (Pinus L) and eucalyptus; wood processing, from top quality timber to pallet production; and road transport, with modern and ecological equipment, including Euro VI vehicles equipped with solar panels.

This family-owned SME, distinguished as PME Líder 2022 by IAPMEI, is today a reference in the municipality of Leiria, combining tradition and innovation with a spirit of mission that projects itself into the future.
