STEWARTVILLE — Sydney Klar's impressive season continued in the Tigers' 8-0 win.

Klar blasted two solo home runs and also tossed seven shutout innings with 12 strikeouts in the circle to lead No. 10, Class 3A ranked Stewartville. Sydney Hedin also homered, while Addie Eckerman drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers (6-3).

Grace Carney went 2-for-3 for Lourdes.

NORTHFIELD — Northfield overcame a two-run deficit, thanks to a five-run fifth and sixth innings to hand Mayo its first loss of the season (6-1).

Grace Mostad went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Raiders.

Lauren Chon and Kate Price each drove in a run for a Mayo offense that was limited to three hits.

RED WING — John Marshall jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Red Wing responded with a run in the fourth and two runs each in the fourth and fifth.

Brooklyn Brady drove in JM's lone run with an RBI single, while Avalynn Baxter went 3-for-3 with a pair of steals for the Rockets (0-6 overall, 0-5 in the Big Nine).

Molly Jacobson finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored, while Cameryn Zotalis and Izzy Guetzliff each had an RBI for the Wingers (3-5, 2-3).

"We didn't get the hits when we needed them, especially early on in the game," JM coach Thang Nguyen said. "Give Red Wing credit for getting the job done with some clutch hits late."
