Thinking of bringing Parallax kits and lessons into your classroom? Get familiar with our hardware, curriculum, and educator resources with these four options: Educator Workshops via Zoom, in-person workshops, self-guided exploration, and training with Parallax partners.
Educator Workshops via ZOOM: Now Enrolling
These free, live, hands-on workshops equip educators to teach new subjects or build skills with new hardware. Topics include micro:bit Python with an emphasis on robotics, electronics, or cybersecurity.
Each workshop consists of one two three 2-hour interactive Zoom sessions, with brief homework in between. They are typically held on a M-W-F 3-5 pm PT, to minimize schedule disruption. Learning objectives are provided in each event description. A certificate for 8 professional development hours is provided after the course (attendance will be taken!)
These courses are open to educators teaching middle school through college in the U.S. Space is limited so apply now!
In-Person Educator Workshops: Host one for your Teachers
Parallax provides in-person professional development workshops for educators teaching middle school, high school, and college STEM-related courses. These can be private workshops for your school district, or part of a larger conference.
Workshops can be tailored to your organization’s needs, typically three to six hours of instruction. Topics include micro:bit and Python with an emphasis on robotics, electronics, or cybersecurity. Parallax provides hardware kits for the attendees to use with their own laptops and take home.
The workshops are led by Parallax Education Team members with many years of engineering, curriculum writing, and professional development experience.

Self-Guided Video and Tutorial Exploration
Video Exploration
The Zoom recording of each online Parallax Educator Workshop is posted to YouTube. This allows attendees to catch up if they miss a session.
This also allows any interested educator to view and follow the sessions independently on their own schedules as time permits.
Workshop videos will be posted in three separate sessions. Look for a link under the video for the presentation slides referenced in the workshop.
For assistance finding the right video resources for your needs, email [email protected] or call our Educator Hotline: (916) 701-8625.
Tutorial Exploration
Parallax provides an extensive library of online tutorials for each of their educational robots and hardware kits.
Each series is organized into three “bookshelves.” Begin with the Prerequisites, from left to right. Then move through the Main tutorials left to right, as each builds skills for the next one. The Projects expand upon the skills learned in the Main tutorials. These may require additional sensors or hardware expansion kits, listed on the project’s first page.
