Are (Mukawa)

Are is a member of the Western Oceanic branch of the Malayo-Polynesian language family. It is spoken by about 1,700 people on Cape Vogel in the north of Milne Bay Province in eastern Papua New Guinea.

Are is also known as Mukawa. It is written with the Latin alphabet, and there is a translation of the Bible in the language.
