Ohio University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. While over 30 of the University’s academic programs are accredited by their own disciplinary accreditors, Ohio University as a whole is accredited by HLC; all of the University’s programs and units are covered by this institution-wide accreditation. HLC offers two different pathways to institutional accreditation. They are the Standard Pathway and the Open Pathway. Ohio University has been on the Open Pathway since 2019. The next HLC Comprehensive Evaluation and visit will occur during the 2034-35 academic year.

Donald J. Leo, Ph.D. serves as the Executive Vice President and Provost. At Ohio University Dr. Leo manages the academic deans and a variety of offices that foster academic quality and student success. He is a professor of mechanical engineering.
