NVIDIA’s third annual survey of over 450 industry professionals explores how telecom companies are investing in, deploying, and benefiting from AI.

This year’s results highlight how the telecom industry is integrating AI throughout diverse lines of business, from external solutions such as virtual customer service assistants to integrating AI into the radio access network (AI-RAN).
49 percent of respondents are actively adopting or assessing generative AI, of which 84 percent plan to offer generative AI services to customers.
84% of respondents said AI is helping to increase their company’s annual revenue. 77% said AI helped reduce annual operating costs.
The need for AI experts has been the key obstacle to AI adoption at scale in telecommunications, according to 43 percent of respondents.
40 percent of respondents plan to use open-source tools, while others adopt in-house AI solutions or engage with third parties to develop AI solutions.
