We are pleased to announce that 2014 NVBC competitor Curiate has been awarded $375,000 in funding from the Canada Media Fund.
The Canada Media Fund, a public-private partnership between the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Canadian Cable Industry, was founded in 2009 to “foster, develop, finance and promote the production of Canadian content and applications for all audiovisual media platforms.”
Curiate, who won the Wavefront Wireless prize at last year’s NVBC competition was one of only two companies in British Columbia to be awarded funding from the CMF.
Curiate, a content management platform that lets viewers “shop-the-show,” are providing TV networks with a new advertising property and increased viewer engagement. The platform identifies people, places and things that appear on television programs so that viewers can share and purchase them. Everything becomes a non-logoed product placement or an in-context advertising opportunity that networks can sell to brands or advertisers.
Congratulations, Curiate!
