Pulling up to the drive-in, popping the trunk and snuggling in the back to watch a flick on the big screen is a summertime classic.

At the peak of drive-in popularity in the late 1950s, Michigan was home to 110 outdoor theaters. Today, that number has dwindled to nine.

Where: 119 West Chicago Road

When: The box office opens at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 8:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, movies start at sundown.

Admission: Adults are $12. Children ages 5 to 11 are $5 and kids under 5 are free. Tickets are for double features.

When: Box office opens at 7:30 p.m. Fridays through Sundays, movies start at dusk.

Ford Wyoming Drive-In, Dearborn

Where: 10400 Ford Road

When: Box office opens at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 8:45 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays.

Admission: $28 a carload for a double feature. $14 per vehicle with a single occupant. $12 charge for oversized vehicles.

When: Gates open at 7:30 p.m., seven days a week, movies start at dusk.

Where: On U.S. 2 across from the Schoolcraft County Airport

When: Select Saturdays in June, July, August and October.

Admission: All events are free.
