Strengthening Dialogue for a Sustainable Future: NGOs have a virtual visit from Bayer Crop Science LifeHubs Transparency and Innovation are top priorities for Bayer, and the company is committed to building and strengthening trust by making information accessible to all. At Bayer, we use science to solve pressing challenges, and people need to understand what we are doing and why we are doing it. Our LifeHubs, located at hotspots of innovation for agriculture around the globe, are at the core of Bayer Crop Science’s commitment to Open Innovation and Transparency. Through regional collaborations that drive both innovation and dialogue on the topics of sustainable and regenerative agriculture, we strive to ensure farmers worldwide have the tools they need to secure global food security while protecting and restoring our planet. Recently, the Sustainability and Strategy team, along with three LifeHubs from Bayer Crop Science, organized a virtual event to engage with NGOs from the EU and India. The focus was on showcasing our commitment to regenerative agriculture and fostering meaningful dialogue on environmental safety through precision-targeted innovative products, sustainability, biodiversity, and climate-smart practices. Nizam Kuxdorf-Alkirata moderated the event, showcasing some of the company’s initiatives in regenerative agriculture. The LifeHub in Lyon shared insights on how Bayer leverages AI, Big Data, and computational science to develop sustainable crop protection compounds. The highlight was CropKey, our crop protection development and safety assessment regime, which ensures our products meet the highest safety standards. LifeHub Monheim emphasized our commitment to human and environmental safety, featuring scientists who discussed advancements like the ‘organ on a chip’ technology. The virtual tour concluded at the LifeHub in Bangalore, where scientists presented farmer-centric solutions, including precision agriculture tools, drones, and mobile apps designed to empower sustainable practices. The event concluded with a vibrant discussion among the participating NGOs, who complimented Bayer for our initiatives and shared their perspectives on regenerative agriculture. They emphasized the need for collaboration among institutions to effectively address global challenges. A huge thank you to the incredible team at Bayer for their hard work and dedication in making this event a success, and to the NGOs for their insightful engagement! 🌟Exciting Milestone Achieved at LifeHub Bangalore! 🌟 Over the past year and a half, LifeHub Bangalore has welcomed around 1200 visitors to LifeHub Bangalore, fostering science curiosity and promoting transparency in Bayer’s research processes. We are proud to have hosted groups, and engaged with students from over 22 institutes specializing in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Data Science, AI, and ML. We also hosted groups of professors from two institutes in Bangalore, as well as students from Bayer’s Medha Fellowship Program in India. We also had the pleasure of hosting three institutes from outside the state of Karnataka. These visits have provided a platform to have a dialogue with students, academicians and professors about science and showcase some of the company’s scientific innovations. Visitors have gained insights on GMOs like Bt Cotton, and the role of digital technologies, breeding and biologics in crop improvement. We also highlighted Bayer’s Nutrient Gap Initiative, which aims to reach 50 million people per year by 2030 to combat malnutrition and foster healthier communities. A big thank you to our science experts at Bayer for collaborating with us to create engaging experiences that ignite passion for science and innovation with students and researchers! Together, we can continue to build trust and understanding within our communities. #LifeHubBangalore #teamBayer #Innovation #Transparency #Education #NGI #STEM
