Why we celebrate Christmas
Why do we celebrate Christmas each year?
More than 2000 years ago a very special human being was born. His message of respect, love, and dignity still resonates with billions of people throughout the world.
Out of gratitude for what Jesus did for us, we remember his birth by giving each other gifts, worshipping him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate.
Let us not ever forget the most important lesson. Each day we should always remember that Jesus paid with his life for his beliefs. We should always remember this when faced with life’s challenges.
When faced with avarice, greed, selfishness, the desire for unearned power and wants vs. needs, to remember that life is so precious and we are more important than such frivolous flawed human desires.
Those people, who act in such ways and seek your endorsement serves as a warning that only worse will come as they defy the message that Jesus exemplified.
Sadly, this is life’s challenge. To hold your ground in the face of these challenges is what Jesus' message really is.
Never forget that although we are flawed, the good of us will always survive and win the day by perseverance, belief, and treating others, as we would like to be treated ourselves.
Those that defy these laws will ultimately suffer and pay the consequences for their actions. It is not our edict to look for immediate retribution, because that will come when the time is right, sometimes in ways that we may not imagine.
Instead, we keep steady in our beliefs and look to hold hands with our families, others, and those less fortunate.
*Most organized religions advocate these same values whether you are Christian or not. Since the beginning of civilization, many cultures have followed leaders that have lived and died for these very same principles.
With love and respect to all,
