It's been a busy month for The Builders Club, we concluded our first 6-week residency cohort and have been busy working on setting up infrastructure to scale our community...

Here are some recent highlights!

• Held an epic Demo Day at Fishburners 🔥, Australia's largest AI showcase, attracting a crowd of 400+ AI enthusiasts. We revealed 26 amazing startups from Season 0 cohort as part of it.

• Doing some building in public with our own community, we released our newly minted website here and onboarded new partners Marqo and National AI Centre to the program.

• Held some great discussion threads in the community on open vs closed source modelling, prompting and the benefits of compounding efforts.

• Got featured in the media for the first time with SmartCompany, full write up here.

What's next?

• Releasing the first of our demo memo series (mini-investment notes). The first will be Cosmos founded by Jason Yu, Tom Qin and David Tsai. Sneak preview below with full memo to be released soon.

• We have revamped our events schedule and community structure. Our community is now open to public applications here. We have reignited our event calendar with coworking sessions and lightening demos open to any builders! Join here

• We are on the lookout for community advisors and mentors🤝! If you are an industry expert of late-stage AI founder, please get in touch.

Spotlight: Demo Day

In an event touted as both one of the biggest logistical nightmares but also most epic Demo Day for grass roots AI in Australia, we were able to pull off an electrifying Demo Day at Fishburners. The official finale for Season 0!

An absolutely massive event, showcasing raw AI builder talent and the possibilities possible when you provide the environment to knuckle down and build at the grassroots level.

We released 26 never seen before AI startups into the wild with 400+ attendees!

It's been amazing seeing our startup ecosystem coming together over this, and it's just the beginning.

A huge shout out to our judges Cheryl Mack, Brendan Hill, 😱 Rayn Ong, Lauren Capelin, Adam Beavis, and Jacky Koh. As well as Maxine Sherrin, Man Yiu LEE , Ilakkiya Elangovan , Sabrina Zeng for making it possible on the night.

We have been busy setting up the infrastructure to scale the community. Ironically, we will be building in public over the coming weeks and would love your inputs on suggestions and feedback.

Some new initiatives we are rolling out:

• Revamping our events schedule, varying events with "deep" build sessions to shorter "lightening" demo and code sessions focused on feedback!

• Gamifying the community with reward points system to win build credits and merch 👀.

• Monthly newsletter (this one) - recapping awesome discussions and wins of the Builder Club to a broader audience.

• Introducing community advisors and leadership positions.
