T-Mobile Kicks Off Second Annual Magenta Giving Month

T-Mobile Kicks Off Second Annual Magenta Giving Month

The word "service" has many meanings at T-Mobile, from cell phone service to customer service. But for the second consecutive year, the month of April will be all about a different type of service - serving our communities.

A little over a year ago, we determined that we could be doing more to serve our communities. Instead of looking for outside opportunities to participate in, we put a stake in the ground and declared that we'd hold our own event, establishing April as the annual Magenta Giving Month.

The goal for last year's inaugural MGM was simple… to make a MASSIVE impact across the country. And Team Magenta did just that, logging 16,351 volunteer hours, donating 14,455 backpacks for City Year; handing out 5,200 ready-to-eat meals for Harvesters; 1,000 STEM kits for OP Breakthrough and 730 trees for Farmer Frog! Add it all up and it equates to nearly $2 MILLION in total donations!

This year, we're excited to partner with Boys and Girls Club as our signature 2024 Magenta Giving Partner. They were an easy choice, because just like the Un-carrier, the Boys and Girls Club is committed to empowering the next generation to reach their full potential! We're also partnering with the American Red Cross, who is on the front lines with us when disaster strikes to ensure everyone has access to their most critical resources.

T-Mobile employees can participate in Magenta Giving Month whether it’s through volunteering, donating or both! There are a wide range of volunteer opportunities, both enterprise-wide and within individual organizations, as well as Magenta Match opportunities through the T-Mobile Foundation.

I'm excited to see how high we can raise the bar in Year 2 of Magenta Giving Month! I'll let you know how it goes!

I would strongly suggest resolving your SIM card issues for residential service and teaching your Tucson retail employees customer service skills before any fundraising. The “service” you mention having many meanings is irrevocably associated with the word horrendous! Please feel free to reach out if you think horrendous should have been stupendous! At this point horrendous accurately describes my customer service experience.

Ulf Ewaldsson, How can Homeownership Equality Research Organization earn T-Mobile's support? HERO helps disadvantaged families get into homes.  Research tells us that if homeownership rates don't rise in these communities, all the socioeconomic improvement from other programs dissipates; because in disadvantaged neighborhoods, housing accounts for 100% of the generational wealth. Please Ulf, can you help us make a real difference?
