Expected Outcomes

  • Improved understanding of AI technologies across various industries.
  • Stronger collaboration and networking among AI stakeholders.
  • Accelerated adoption of AI solutions, leading to increased innovation and competitiveness.

Workstream 3: Support for AI Entrepreneurs and Innovators

Objective

To provide targeted support for AI entrepreneurs and innovators, enabling them to scale their solutions and contribute to Australia's innovation ecosystem.

Key Activities

  1. Mentorship and Advisory: Connect AI entrepreneurs with experienced mentors and advisors to guide their development and scaling efforts.
  2. Funding and Investment: Facilitate access to funding and investment opportunities through partnerships with venture capital firms and government grants.

Expected Outcomes

  • Enhanced growth and sustainability of AI startups and innovations.
  • Increased investment in AI-driven solutions.
  • A vibrant AI innovation ecosystem contributing to Australia's economic growth.

Conclusion

By focusing on policy development, industry education, and entrepreneurial support, this industry body aims to create a thriving AI ecosystem in Australia. The collaboration between policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators will drive AI-driven innovation, ensuring Australia remains competitive on the global stage.

Next Steps

  1. Establish a steering committee to oversee the formation of the industry body.
  2. Engage key stakeholders to refine the scope and activities of each workstream.
  3. Secure initial funding and resources to launch the workstreams.

I like the "move faster" theme! I had two conversations today alone, with AI leaders from overseas, both stating that they have been surprised about the non-existing urgency of company leaders, and even VCs to drive innovation, AI adoption. I actually think we need to bring in more outsider perspectives through knowledge exchange with hubs like India, Singapore, and even Europe. Not enough being done. How can we help?
