Transforming the UK food system: Leading sustainability efforts
We’re spearheading a £1.9m project to revolutionise public sector food procurement. Led by Professor Moya Kneafsey, this initiative is driving a healthier and more sustainable future.
Strengthening international research impact
Coventry University has joined forces with the Łukasiewicz Research Network in Poland to work on joint research initiatives in areas such as climate, energy, manufacturing and health.
Empowering women in STEM
We’re honouring the achievements of our Women in STEM scholars who are breaking barriers in traditionally underrepresented fields. Hear from Asbah Batool and Iqra Jilani on their inspiring journeys.
Helping SMEs access apprenticeships
We’re helping 100 SMEs access apprenticeship opportunities through the offer of a Levy gift, supporting them to develop the skills needed for their business.
Celebrating Global Education Week
We applauded our researchers' efforts in making education more inclusive for all. Professor Lynn Clouder emphasises the importance of education in times of change and how it can help to build social and cultural resilience.
Changing our understanding of the Earth's magnetic field
Led by Professor Alban Pothérat , our Research Centre for Fluid and Complex Systems team have used a scale model of the Earth’s liquid core to learn more about the planet’s magnetic field. This could have global implications for science and technology.
Creating a safer online world for women and girls
Dr. Lindsay Balfour, PhD and Professor Adrienne Evans developed a framework for a digital toolkit that could improve the online safety of women and girls worldwide. Their work culminated in a summit on preventing digital gendered violence at our Brussels Hub.
Excellence in Sport Science
Congratulations to Professor Michael Duncan , who has been elected as a Fellow of the International Motor Development Research Consortium for his outstanding contributions to sport science.
Creative technology in the West Midlands
Professor Nick Henry is serving as Co-Investigator for CreaTech Frontiers – a £6.75m collaborative programme to boost creative technology innovation in the West Midlands.
International Men’s Day
We showcased Dr Marcus Maloney 's powerful research on men’s mental health and wellbeing in the digital age on International Men’s Day.
November graduation
We ended the year on a high with November’s graduation ceremonies, applauding the achievements and success stories of our talented postgraduate researchers.
Wrapping up 2024
As we prepare for 2025, we’re proud to reflect on a year shaped by impactful research, meaningful collaborations and real-world outcomes. Our achievements in 2024 are a testament to the power and significance of our research and innovation.
