One year on...

One year on...

12 months ago, I walked into 20 Hunter Street for the first time as a HubSpotter. Two days later, I was on a plane to Singapore.

Now, as I sit with my morning coffee, I’ve hit my first milestone (of many)… one year at HubSpot.

Here’s a few thoughts:

1.There’s something magical about shared vision

Nearly EVERY interview I have with people they talk about our culture (it’s truly humbling). We laugh, we cry and create memories together. When you get to be apart of something bigger than yourself, it creates this sort of magic.

2. HEART is more than just an acronym.

H - Humble. Everywhere I look, people are willing to help. Willing to learn. Willing to put themselves aside for a second to check in. As Edel Murray says, feedback is a gift

E- Empathetic. It’s the little things we remember. When I told our team my wife was expecting, we got a little BubSpot (I’m trademarking that!) onesie for our soon-to-arrive daughter, and some play toys. That’s all my wife mentions now.

A - Adaptable. Throughout 2020, our team has continue to kick goals. With everything going on around us, HubSpot’s people have been more adaptable than ever.

R - Remarkable. 45. That’s the number of folks in 2020 that have been promoted (either in-line or into a new role). For a team that ticked over 100 employees this year, that is nothing short of remarkable.

T. Transparent. From the top down (shout out our executive team), the business has over-communicated, which in 2020 has been nothing short of inspirational. We have been able to see the business in every way.

3. I’ve still got so much growth and to learn.

Things will never get stale at HubSpot. We are constantly moving, and growing to new heights. 32 people joined our ANZ this year. 32 times I had the joy of offering someone a role here. But I know in 2021, that number will be bigger. I’m excited to GROW BETTER

Thank you:

Katie Burke - you're an inspiration. I could write another article on you.

Devon Brown - for giving me the best platform to launch off possible, and for introducing me to Nitro Coffee.

All of JAPAC Recruiting / SydSpot - I count it a joy to be able to partner with you all!

Brian Halligan + Dharmesh Shah - Thanks for making HubSpot what it is today.
