How Meaningful Recruiting Conversations Can Finally Fix Hiring

We talk a lot about how the #recruiting process is broken.

  • "We can't attract and retain the best candidates."
  • "We can't hire fast enough."
  • "The hiring manager / recruiter won't get back to me."
  • "The recruiter doesn't understand what I'm looking for."
  • "There aren't any good candidates"

Right now, recruiting is a bunch of complaints and excuses.

When we do talk about solutions, many people talk about that in the most literal term - #HRtech solutions. For some reason, we think that purchasing a new solution will magically fix whatever problems we have.

However, tech can get only us so far.

Now, I'm definitely not anti-tech. That couldn't be further from the truth. I just believe that at some point, if we aren't realizing the results we want we need to start looking inward. We need to start changing our attitudes, behaviors, and processes.

That's why this month, I'm diving deep into the topic of "Meaningful Recruiting Conversations," to explore how improving both internal and external communications paired with some amazing technology can help hiring teams, job seekers, and technologists work better together.

I'm working with some amazing Talent Acquisition experts like Claire Petrie to drive conversations into topics like how meaningful recruiting conversations can improve remote hiring and work, help connect and improve the candidate and employee experiences, and more.

This effort will include some blog posts like this: MEANINGFUL RECRUITING CONVERSATIONS TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN PEOPLE, PROCESSES, & TECHNOLOGY, as well as an upcoming whitepaper on 11 tips to improving internal and external conversations, posts on Candidate Advocacy and Remote Hiring, and a webinar with the Talent Board on Meaningful Recruiting Conversations on May 18th.

For more information on meaningful recruiting conversations, stay tuned. Get a glimpse of our findings in today's blog post.
