The Hopper VTOL Aircraft for Exploration and Rescue Missions
What makes for a safe VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft? Safety should be the top priority when designing an new VTOL or eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft. One of the first decisions that needs to be made is should you use a open propeller or a ducted fan with a shroud around the propeller for better safety. If you choose an open propeller blade you where not thinking about safety? Then as an aircraft designer you should have thought about noise from the propeller blades? Open propeller blades make more noise than a ducted fan. So the Ducted fan is safer and makes less noise than a open propeller blades.
What about bird strikes and other obstacle that helicopters and multi rotor may encounter? A rotor blade strike can cause injury or death and has been a problem with helicopters in the past and present.
The Hopper VTOL aircraft uses a propeller in the chambered fan that is totally enclosed and not exposed to the atmosphere like helicopters and multi rotor aircraft. The Hopper's Ducted Wing Propulsion System with enclosed rotor blades is Safe, Quiet, Fast, and Efficient.
The Hopper's patent is like the Harrier Jump Jet design, but the Hopper uses a different engine configuration. The Hopper blows air up into the ducted wing and the ducted wing curves the airflow back towards the ground to give lift. This spreads out the balance point to give good stability in flight.
Hopper Express Transportation Inc wants to use the Hoppers to help clean up the oceans and river. The Hopper can land on water or land making it the perfect all purpose craft. The Hopper can be used to explore areas other have not been able to reach. Researchers can save time getting to their locations using the Hopper. The first responders can use the Hopper for rescue missions with a greater safety factor then a helicopter. The Hopper can be designed to carry water to forest fire.
Hopper Express Transportation is seeking partners/investors that see the Hopper is the future of VTOL air transportation. The website has contact information. www.hopper-express.com
