Experts Tip: Visualize Your Business

Experts Tip: Visualize Your Business

Been having a ton of fun over the last week mapping out our entire customer journey process.

What you see in this picture is the ENTIRE process – from initial traffic sources to lead capture, routing, and delegation – all the way through the sales process and a customer's first full year using Clockwork

Being that we're a database/CRM, project management system, presentation platform and marketplace for Boutique Executive Recruiting Firms and Institutional VC/PE Investors all wrapped into one, it's a rather complex business to teach to new hires.

As a result of this drawing, I can now teach someone in 15 minutes what's taken me nearly 4 months to learn. This visual aid acts as a sort of "constitution" that we can refer back to anytime we need it. What you're not seeing is the fact that most of the colored boxes are hyperlinked to additional documentation or drawings for each sub-process.

Getting the chance to fully contribute what I've learned over the last 20 years as a Sales and Marketing leader to Clockwork has been a dream come true for me over these past few months. Needless to say, 2018 is going to be a banner year!

Want to ramp new hires faster?

Want to think/act more strategically?

Want an easier way to prioritize and direct projects more efficiently?

Want to spot ways to save money and/or make even more with zero extra effort?

Tip: If you're not using some form of visualization tool (such as Google Drawings) to map out how each part of your business works, you're missing out on a huge opportunity!

I am stunned at hearing the actual words “mapping my customer journey” . I actually spoke with the owner of Process Model last Friday about using Discrete Event Simulation they have to watch clients actually flowing thru the model once it is built...we really need to talk when you are using modeling in your article

Great example of how we should be using visual tools to communicate. It looks like the missing piece is to map out your value stream so whomever you're training knows who your customer is, what they want to pay for and when they want it.
