Business Journal unveils the 100 best workplaces in Washington
Employers are vying to recruit and retain the best people, and that means retooling everything from where they work to opportunities for personal and career advancement.
Companies large and small have made changes to their missions and cultures to improve work-life balance and tap into what motivates workers. But when it comes to the best places to work in Washington, the employees are the best judge.
The Business Journal's annual Best Workplaces List takes in evaluations and ranks them in the categories of small, medium, large and extra large.
Companies opt into the nomination program, which includes a $250 fee and does not guarantee placement on the Lists. Eligible companies must be established for at least four years and have at least 10 full-time employees at an office in Washington.
The Business Journals' national research partner, Quantum Workplaces, issues surveys to employees at participating companies and tallies the results. The companies must meet a minimum employee participation rate to qualify for the list, which varies depending on a company's size.
The top 25 scores in each category are verified by the Business Journal.
The final rankings of these employers will be revealed in a special section published on Aug. 30. The 100 companies that landed on the Lists will also be recognized at an event on Aug. 29 at T-Mobile Park.
