Hey there! Long time no see (I know). Anyway, last week Franco Bermúdez and I were discussing how we can leverage the available tools in Figma (especially Dev Mode) to foster better collaboration between the devs and designers of our teams at Scotia. These days, I'll be doing a deep dive into the feature, BUT I was wondering if anyone here has already done something similar in the past so we can learn from their experience. If that is the case, I'd love to chat with you and get better insights on how you or your team are using Figma Dev Mode in your day-to-day product development duties. Feel free to DM me!

Dear network, 🌍 I'm a big fan of Bolt.new for its AI-powered code generation, but I'm hoping to find a similar tool that can leverage Figma designs directly. Ideally, I'd like a platform that can generate code from Figma mockups, streamlining the development process. Has anyone had experience with such a tool? 🔍 Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! #AI #Figma #SoftwareDevelopment #NoCode #LowCode

A Whack-a-Mole Update on Cubyts 🚀 We’ve been listening closely to the challenges that engineering teams face, and it’s clear there’s always something popping up when you least expect it! So, we’ve made some improvements. Cubyts now does live checks on definition documents, for example making sure every UI design file (a.k.a Figma Handoff files) meets the criteria before it moves to development. Fewer surprises sneaking in at the last minute because of missing or unclear details. We’re also rolling out continuous static code analysis, catching code issues as soon as they appear — so you’re not constantly chasing down problems. Guess what, you don't have to trigger a code check event to catch them anymore. And here's the bit we're really excited about: our AI, Nebula. It isn’t just reactive, it also learns from historical data, spots patterns, predicts risks. Nebula nudges you toward actions that help avoid those drawn-out timelines and rework sessions that seem to happen more often than anyone likes to admit. It’s still early days, but we’re making progress, and we’re learning as we go. Here’s to fewer surprises and more wins ahead! 🎯

Having the *right* software engineering team is what we all strive for, but how do you define what's "right"? 🤔 Who fits in, and how do you define the culture of your team? Next week on 8/23, I will speaking (and listening)👨🏫at nvisia DevCon conference on the importance of defining your engineering values. By defining AND reinforcing your engineering values, your team is able test what they do against these values. Figma has their values publicly defined here: https://lnkd.in/gM7-SuDA I love the second value "Lift your Team", it reinforces that writing software is dependent on the team, communication needs to happen often with compassion, they all learn from mistakes. 🤗 I'd love to hear about the engineering values you do or don't have, comment below! p.s. Hit me up for a promo code to save some 💰on the conference! p.p.s. link to the event here: https://lnkd.in/gZXV56Xf

I know it doesn't look like anything....but I've been tinkering with code and after following Figma's Plugin QuickStart Guide I was able to create my very first Figma plugin. But why does that matter? 🖥 Coding experience allows UX Designers to better understand the technical feasibility of their designs. 📢 UX Designers with coding skills can communicate effectively with developers with rapid prototyping and even convey their experiences with recruiters. 🌐With coding knowledge, Product Designers can push the boundaries of what is possible, experimenting with innovative and user-centered solutions. And also, I might be creating something really badass for next year's Hackathon if I don't have commitment issues. 😅 {The QuickStart guide is in the comments if you want to try it out}. #figma #figmaplugin #productdesigner #learning

CodeParrot (YC W23) helps developers build stunning UI lightning-fast by converting Figma designs and screenshots into production-ready code. Just share your Figma files, set your code preferences, and have your screens ready in minutes. Shipping fast often comes with cutting corners on UI, but a good user interface is the first impression you don’t get to make twice. CodeParrot aims to remove this tradeoff and raise the bar for digital experiences. Founded by Royal Jain and Vedant Agarwala to solve their product-building challenges, CodeParrot leverages the advancements in LLMs to help over 3000 engineers, from startups to enterprises, build things they are proud of.
