TIL the term unbossing for better or worse, I think all the bosses I have worked with, good or bad, I have always learned from in some ways. This kinda feels like using AI as an excuse to remove costs and a very handed cultural revolution style of shifting cultures, which could lead to poor outcomes over time with tacit knowledge being lost Some pruning is always great but huge waves are just tsunamis no matter what marketing term is used https://lnkd.in/gDz63KAJ

Hiring based on past performance? It's like catching a falling knife. Part 2: The Accelerating Half-Life of Skills 🚀 The pace of change in technology and work is staggering. The question for #RealEstate employers is how you respond. 📉 The half-life of skills—the time it takes for a skill to lose half its value—has shrunk dramatically. Historically, skills stayed relevant for a decade or more. Picture your parents, how long did they stay in the same role or industry compared to your own career path? Today: A close friend shared this article with me in the summer of last year and I've been hooked. It explains many skills last fewer than five years, and in cutting-edge fields, just two and a half years. So if the skills are shorter lived, how can we rely on hiring on past performance? For real estate, this means adapting to trends like proptech, sustainability practices, and data analytics faster than ever. Reskilling is no longer just an HR initiative—it’s a strategic imperative to stay competitive. The article gives credit to companies like Infosys, Vodafone, and Amazon having shown that investing in reskilling builds an adaptable workforce, ready for emerging challenges. I'm fascinated by this attitude to working with existing teams and hiring based on skills and culture not traditional measures like education or employment history. In Part 3, I’ll break down how your organisation can implement a skills-first and reskilling strategy to future-proof your workforce. After all investing in a great employee is a great investment. #Reskilling #TalentStrategy #FutureOfRealEstate #Hiring
