🔍 Unmasking AI-Written Patent Claims🔍 In recent weeks, I've been working on generating patent claims data using LLM and building a classifier model to identify AI-written patent claims. As LLM technology continues to advance, it's important for inventors and patent examiners to determine whether patent claims are drafted by human patent writers or generated solely by LLM models. Can AI be an inventor? Partners Mark Prinsley and Brian Nolan and associate Benjamin Beck authored an article for Law360’s Expert Analysis series on the UK, US, European Patent Office (EPO) and German approach to whether AI systems can be named as inventors on a patent application. The article compares the position of the UK Supreme Court in Thaler v Comptroller-General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, with those of the US Patent and Trademark Office, US federal courts, EPO and German Federal Patent Court.
