Time flies: Pausing and reviewing We can't stop the clock from ticking away the days. I realized that it has been 2 years since I made the switch. Yesterday I found a moment to pause and to look back. I am proud of the extensive experience I have gained working as a Supply Chain Engineer the past two years. This role has been incredibly enriching, allowing me to thrive in an international environment where collaboration with colleagues from around the globe is key. Together, we have focused on a common goal: delivering exceptional service to customers. In my role, I have been responsible for managing transportation logistics, which has enabled me to develop a clear and strategic vision for handling shipping across all modalities. My experience includes effective cooperation with carriers and freight forwarders, ensuring seamless and efficient transport operations. This has not only honed my logistical skills but also reinforced the importance of teamwork and communication in achieving high performance.Additionally, in my current role, I could develop and enhance how to plan effectively from forecast to eventual shipping. A significant milestone in my journey was taking over a team and successfully re-aligning our focus to our core tasks. Changing habits is never easy, but I am proud to see how the team has managed this transition. We are making significant strides towards excellence, demonstrating our commitment to continuous improvement and high standards. Reflecting on these experiences, I am truly happy with the decision I made two years ago. I also recognize that there is still room for personal improvement. I aim to further develop my leadership skills, particularly in communication and motivational techniques. Additionally, I want to enhance my technical knowledge to stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field. By focusing on these areas, I believe I can continue to grow and contribute even more effectively to my team and organization.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT: ADAPT OR FAIL “I tell the CEOs I meet that this time, simply fine-tuning supply chains is not enough.” These are the words of Hernan S., the global head of our Performance Improvement practice, who is currently traveling the world, advising companies on how to adapt to the changes brought about by the trade war and customer demands. In an interview with @Helsingin Sanomat during his recent visit to Finland, Hernan argues that in today’s world, business leaders need to consider customer needs, supply chain security, the cost of reducing their carbon footprint, and the simultaneous digitalization of operations. "Supply chain is the heartbeat of everything!" ✨Meet Shay Lynn✨ She is the CEO of SCALE Logistics 🚚🌟 Supply Chain Gals had the opportunity to interview Shay Lynn and here is what we learned about her: SCG: How did you get into your current role? SD: I worked in corporate for a large 3PL who laid me off when my son got diagnosed with epilepsy. I was a consultant for small businesses until my non-compete ended and started my own 3PL. 🌟 My Journey in Supply Chain Management 🌟 At 22, fresh out of the Institute of Foreign Languages, I had no idea what logistics was. Yet, a fortunate star illuminated my path, leading me to develop the foreign economic activity (ВЭД) department in my first job. Little did I know that this was the beginning of my professional destiny in Supply Chain Management (SCM). Supply chain is the heartbeat of a business, ensuring the rhythmic and seamless operation of the entire organization. This heartbeat became the pulse of my career, where I learned to transform chaos into harmony by managing the flow of goods and information. Leaders in supply chain departments are masters of coordination, transforming obstacles into strategic advantages. These words resonate with my journey as I navigated through the complexities of supply chains, finding opportunities where others saw challenges. In SCM, it's not just about logistics but the art of synchronization and optimization of all processes. This art form captivated me, turning logistics into a strategic partnership that adds value to all participants. Supply chain leaders are the architects of sustainable business, implementing innovative and eco-friendly solutions. This became my mantra as I strived to integrate sustainable practices into our operations, ensuring long-term success. The vision of successful supply chains begins with a leader who understands the importance of every link in this complex system. I embraced this vision, working diligently to strengthen each link and foster a collaborative culture. Today, as a leader in SCM, I see myself as a conductor of an orchestra, where every instrument plays its part, creating a harmonious melody. This melody is the efficient and effective supply chain that drives our business forward. Supply chain is a network of opportunities, where every node and connection work towards a common goal. This perspective has guided my approach, always looking for ways to optimize and innovate. To all aspiring professionals, remember that leaders in supply chain departments are strategists who foresee market changes and adapt faster than anyone else. Embrace the challenges, and let your star guide you to your destiny in SCM. From knowing nothing about logistics to making SCM my professional fate, this journey has been incredible. Here's to the stars that guide us and the supply chains that connect us! #SupplyChainManagement #SCM #Logistics #CareerJourney #Leadership #Innovation #Sustainability

Just completed my jurney in Operation, Module of MBA with professor Constantin Blome at Bologna Business School. I would like to provide a summary using some words from the original text: Aligning Supply Chain Strategies with Product Uncertainties of Hau L. Lee. Supply chain management has emerged as one of the major areas for companies to gain a competitive edge. Managing supply chains effectively is a complex and challenging task, due to the current business trends of expanding product variety, short product life cycle, increasing outsourcing, globalization of businesses, and continuous advances in information technology. The opportunity of "lower purchasing cost," while crucial for maximizing total supply chain profitability, is increasingly becoming just one part of the equation. The complexity of supply chains has escalated in recent years due to VUCA, presenting an even more formidable challenge for the future. Francisco Carrillo Andrés we are simply awaiting for Godzilla arrival!

Hello connections, I’m thrilled to share that I have achieved a milestone in my Master's Degree, with a “Distinction” in Supply Chain and Logistics Management Master's Dissertation Project at the WMG, University of Warwick! I took the topic of Supporting Supply Chain Performance Optimisation Through Supply Chain Transparency because I was inspired and motivated by core modules: Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Inventory Management. An integrated supply chain relies on information sharing among stakeholders. A resilient supply chain relies on cooperation and relationship management with suppliers, and different types of suppliers determine a company's relationship strategy and level of information sharing. Furthermore, smaller errors in demand forecasts and real-time inventory data represent more transparent and cost-effective inventory management. Through the initial literature review, I gained a deeper understanding of supply chain transparency (SCT) and found it to be a complex concept and an area of growing interest. This further stimulated my exploration. I found that although there was more attention on SCT, there was little discussion on how to measure SCT, so I conducted a systematic literature review to find a measurement method. It turned out that there were no direct measurements, but rather multidimensional indirect measurements focussed on food, fashion and pharmaceutical supply chains. So I combined it with a case study, choosing representative companies from each of these three industries, Walmart, Nike and GSK as case companies to study and compare the gap between reality and literature. In the process, I discovered that ESG scores and the Fashion Transparency Index are indirect measures of SCT, but SCT has industry heterogeneity. The thesis acts as a bridge to connect ESG to SCT and make recommendations for companies to optimise their supply chains and improve performance. I would like to give a special thanks to my supervisor, Alexa Kirkaldy SFHEA, for always being patient and supporting and encouraging me in my project. I am grateful to her for getting me unstuck and after each meeting, I have more clarity and confidence to move on to the next stage of the project. Working with Alexa has been great and as a result, has planted the seed that I want to continue to pursue my dream of a career in the UK. Moreover, my appreciation to WMG, University of Warwick, and to the University of Warwick, for enriching my Master's journey, allowing me to grow quickly, and fuelling my passion for Supply Chain Management!

What recommendations does a company need to optimise stock levels? Master's students of logistics at the Hamburg campus had to find answers to this question as part of a project for fritz-kola. The participants on the International Logistics & Supply Chain Management programme had to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the safety stock levels in each bottling plant. The aim was to outline a more efficient storage policy for fritz-kola, as specified by course leader Prof. Dr. Dagmar Tomanek. What was the tricky part and how was it solved? 📌 Find out more here: https://sohub.io/qdhi Prateek Pardeshi, Philipp Beindorff Oliver Moritz
