The reason why you feel imposter syndrome is because you think you need to be at a level 1000 at what you before you teach anyone what you know. My perspective is, you don't need to be the best at what you do to teach someone! There will always be people who need a teacher with your experience level. Don't be afraid to teach people from your level of experience. Do you suffer from imposter syndrome?
Bro take it from me your wife and kids have the best man there is and you are a blessing to us ❤️🙏🙇
So true Vinh Giang! You will also LEVEL UP faster by teaching!
A little bit of impostor syndrome is essential. It means you are not an arrogant person and know that you can improve. But having too much of it (e.g. assuming that you can't add any real value to your team or people around) is stressful. Everyone can bring so much positive change to their surroundings. They just need to focus one thing at a time.
You only need 1 or 2 steps ahead of the others to qualify for sharing your knowledge (aka teaching) to them.
I did MMA for seven or eight years, after a little while the coach used to have me take the brand new guys off to the corner of a mat and do basic drills with them to help them get started, in a couple of days they would somewhat be ready to roll with the group. I didn't have a lot of depth but I did this because it helped me drill the fundamentals over and over...and help a new person get started. If you learn to do something good from the beginning, you always have something to teach, even if it's just to breath and be calm. Drill the basics.
✨Imposter syndrome thrives on perfectionism… start teaching from where you are, not where you think you should be… teaching isn’t about being the best or meeting others expectations it’s about being one step ahead and willing to help others grow… you got this people…💫
I used to collect courses and certificates like it was my 3rd job (kinda was...), but then I realized something important. You'll never become the greatest if you don't start. And it's not about being the greatest anyway. It's about providing value to your trainees and facilitating their learning and growth. It's enough to be a few steps ahead - and nothing makes you learn faster than teaching others.
Occasionally, yes. As someone who holds a degree in economics but works in the education field, this syndrome kicks in from time to time. In those moments, I take time to remind myself of the good things I've already accomplished and tell myself, "I'm enough". It helps.

1wI feel like teaching from where you are is how you reinforce what you know so you can move forward. Love the perspective.
