Does your design need reinforcing ribs? In rotational molding, these part features help keep nominal wall thickness to a minimum. That’s important because thicker walls increase cycle times. https://bit.ly/3pG35ep #rotomolding #rotomolder #rotationalmolding #designtips

This article mainly introduces requirements for stiffeners, support columns, screw columns and support sleeves in design of plastic structures. See below for details: 1. Reinforcement rib design Reinforcing ribs are an essential feature in design of plastic parts. They are used to increase strength of part, serve as a runner to assist flow of plastic melt, and provide guidance, positioning and support for other parts in product. Design parameters of reinforcing ribs include thickness, height, draft angle, root fillet, and spacing between reinforcing ribs. #plasticstructure #plasticparts #plasticdesign

Mixer base structure is shown in Figure 1. The overall dimensions are 250 mm*130 mm*184 mm, wall thickness is 2 mm, and plastic part consists of two parts, one high and one low. Center distance between the two is 120 mm, height of higher part is 178 mm, and height of lower part is 16 mm. There is a structure for installing panel on positive side of higher part, which contains multiple holes and a ring groove similar to a runway. There is a countersunk hole ① on the side of higher part facing lower part. There is an inner hole of φ82 mm in the middle of higher part, and a countersunk hole ② on its inner surface is connected to countersunk hole ①; there is a through hole and an annular groove in the middle of lower part, outer diameter of annular groove is φ81 mm, inner diameter is φ36 mm, and there are two evenly distributed buckles on outer diameter side wall of annular groove; in order to match with other parts, there is a circle of steps at mouth of plastic part, there are two square holes on both sides of steps, and there are several cylindrical holes on inner surface of plastic part. #corepullingmechanism #mixerbasemold #Molddesign #plasticparts

Hello everyone on LinkedIn, I'm excited to share a new and innovative design for a wall-hung toilet (WC). This unique design features a three-part body construction and utilizes a hydraulic operating system. The advantage of this type of Models it's that we can making a very flexibility design and an accurate flushing system Key Features: 1- Vortex Flush with Front Jet: The system uses a vortex input on the upper rim combined with a front jet at the siphon outlet for optimal flushing performance. 2- Cost-Effective Production: The design allows for the use of standard production machines, making it a cost-effective option for manufacturers. ⚡Draft angle⚡ Draft angle is an important design element that helps eject the part from the mold easily. 💡 ✅1. Draft angle is the taper added to the vertical wall to make it easier for the part to be released from the mold. ✅2. Maintain a consistent draft angle on all vertical surfaces to ensure even release. ✅3. Determine the appropriate draft angle size based on material properties, part geometry, and mold design. The draft angle is 1-2° on smooth guyed walls and 3-5° on textured surfaces. ✅4. Prioritize draft angles for critical features such as vertical walls, ribs, and bosses to prevent damage and ensure smooth ejection. ✅5. Undercuts should be minimized or eliminated when designing parts, as they require complex operations before ejection, which complicates mold design. ✅6. Align the draft angle with the parting line of the mold to ensure uniform ejection force. ✅7. Apply draft at the joints between ribs, gussets and adjacent walls to facilitate demoulding and reduce the risk of deformation. ✅8. On decorative surfaces, consider using smaller draft angles or blending them into the design to minimize their visual impact. #Draft #draftangle #manufacturing #gate #Injection #molding #plasticinjectionmoulding #toolingdesign #engineering #plastic #mold #mould #plastic #tooling

Swapping a material card does not a #composite design make. To truly take advantage of all the benefits of #composites and minimize their weaknesses requires an entirely different #design philosophy from metals. In the early days of #advancedmanufacturing, sometimes designers would take an existing metallic design and simply change the material to #carbon. These were termed "black aluminum" or "black titanium" and usually created fabrication and/or quality issues. Composite parts need to be designed as composites from the start and the surrounding and interfacing structure needs to be considered as a holistic system to ensure optimal designs that are both producible and structurally efficient. #LaminateLife #advancedmaterials
