The DRONEVAC © rescue system by AVILUS is intended to act as a further guardian angel for our troops and supplement the standard resources of the military evacuation chain. It consists of a multicopter for transporting the wounded (MEDEVAC), a mobile operations center (PECC) and a trailer platform for flight operations, service, and logistics (TROL). The military-medical applications of the system are manifold: tactical evacuation from casualty collection points, transfer missions between medical treatment facilities, medical supply flights or selected special operations in high-risk areas. The system is thus a sign of our times and an integral part of the RASEVAC philosophy (robotic, autonomous systems for evacuation operations), which is currently gaining in importance worldwide.

THeMIS Cargo Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC) UGVs provide two capabilities: a means to effortlessly transport supplies, equipment and extra weapons to the mission area and rapid evacuation for urgent casualties from the point of injury to higher-level medical facilities. They increase the mobility of dismounted units and reduce the cognitive load of soldiers and the need for manpower usually utilised for casualty evacuation, ensuring the safety of the wounded and medical staff. Combat proven in Ukraine by the Ukrainian armed forces in the ongoing war, THeMIS UGVs are equipped with a secure Line-of-sight and Beyond Line-of-Sight communication system, enabling the operators to remain safe. Additionally, THeMIS Cargo UGVs can be enhanced with Milrem Robotics' Intelligent Functions Kit (MIFIK), making them the most capable tactical autonomous ground vehicles for fulfilling missions in extreme and complex terrains and environments. #THeMIS #UGV #MilremRobotics

Another space to watch: swarm intelligence. But not just any swarm: multi-sensor “mapping” at high speed, integrated with rapid communication, coordination, and adaptation. If successful models (Tesla) are moving away from a deterministic approach (follow same steps every time), this opens AI to greater flexibility at the intersection of these themes, and potentially unintended emergent behaviors as models explore the limits of what is available. Ultimately, the core question: how does moving in this direction relate to Thomas Siebel’s warning about ethical risks(this is not sociology, but is decision-making combined with lethal force)? Is the space understood well enough to contain potential risks? And yet, given the demonstrations of Chinese New Year, does the West really have a choice?

Asia Pacific militaries are slowly adopting various elements in new or incumbent vehicle fleets to improve their survivability, situational awareness, firepower and mobility, partly in response to lessons being learned from current conflicts. The Australian Army‘s AS21 Redback IFV has many of the elements discussed in this article being integrated on the finished design. Fitted with Soucy tracks and boasting extremely good #armour protection, it also has the Iron Fist Light Decoupled APS fully integrated onto the T2000 turret, as well as the IronVision see-through-armour system.

Confronted with high-intensity scenarios, operational needs are evolving, demanding versatile vehicles capable of adapting to various threats. Arquus addresses this by introducing the prototype of its new multi-role armoured vehicle, which integrates high payload capacity, superior protection, and medium-calibre armament, all while ensuring excellent mobility. MAV’Rx is a genuine contact vehicle. This multi-mission versatile platform can transport a combat group, conducting medical evacuation missions, and providing direct or indirect fire support. MAV’Rx benefits from Arquus’ globally recognised expertise in mobility. Equipped with independent wheel suspensions and a 400hp engine coupled with a 7-speed automatic gearbox, it boasts impeccable performance. It has all the attributes (VPG, run-flat tires, etc.) that make it an all-terrain vehicle, perfectly at ease in any environment. The vehicle meets the highest protection standards (according to STANAG 4569) and benefits from Arquus’ long-standing internal expertise in this field: MAV’Rx supports the combat group in close contact. In its troop transport version, the MAV’Rx can accommodate ten people along with their equipment in optimal habitability conditions. Boarding and disembarking are facilitated by electrically assisted doors and a rear ramp. The design of its cabin allows easy communication among personnel, and the thermal comfort is designed for the most extreme conditions. Control and information are distributed to reduce the cognitive load on the crew. For the commander, the Battlenet system provides better overall tactical awareness and shorter response times. MAV’Rx is designed as a true contact system. As such, it can carry medium-calibre armament. At Eurosatory, it is presented with JCD’s 25mm turret. It can also be equipped with other types of armament (self-defence type HORNET turret) or other weapon systems. As a system integration expert, Arquus makes MAV’Rx a vehicle capable of accommodating many sensors and effectors, making it suited for high-intensity scenarios. From its conception, MAV’Rx has taken battlefield maintenance constraints into account. Thus, its powerpack can be replaced in two hours. It is also compatible with HUMS and Arquus’ diagnostic system to offer the best operational availability. #military #defense #defence #militaryleak https://lnkd.in/gNTBd7Yy
