1️⃣ 2️⃣ Yesterday I celebrated 12 years at Meta. It's rather amazing to look back and digest spending more than a decade, more than a quarter of my life in one company. I attribute this to the ever changing scope and new products I get to work on. It definitely doesn't feel like I had done one job in the past 12 years. 💻 I also never thought I would do Product Marketing as a job. I studied Computer Science, and the first part of my career has been in the programming and software engineering field. 🏄♂️ Delving into Product Marketing, fortunately my technical skills gave me a good standing ground, but I had to learn many new soft skills which aren't that easy for someone who is an introvert by nature. 🏁 When I look back and reflect today at who I was 12 years ago and who I am today, a lot has changed. Echoing a colleague of mine who told me, we can never go back to who we were when we first started at Meta. 💡 My question to myself is, who will I be in 12 years :). A fun exercise to do. I will probably write down a guess, seal it, and open it in 12 years to see if I was in the right ballpark. 🔍 Hit me up if you are just starting out and need to know more about Product Marketing or what skills are required.

After working at Meta I realized something. We've stopped reading for fun. While everyone is reading to improve their work. I started to read to improve my life. One of those books that does that is The Four Agreements. It's simple ideas have a deep meaning for everyone. 1.⁠ ⁠Be impeccable with your word. Keep the promises you make, especially the ones you make to yourself every single week! 2.⁠ ⁠Don’t take anything personally. Boss getting angry, deadline not met, work not being perfect. None of it is personal, it's simply life. Live it. 3.⁠ ⁠Don’t make assumptions. Stop overthinking work, situations and even relationships and outcomes - simply communicate. 4.⁠ ⁠Always do your best. Because that's all we can give at any given moment. Yes we should read to improve in the workplace. Even become richer or even wealthier. But true wealth comes from a sustainable life. What book would you recommend?

There comes a point where personal values diverge too much from company values, and when you realize you can’t change the course, it becomes clear that it’s time to move on. I will be leaving Meta next month, ready to start a new chapter in my life. This decision hasn’t been easy—it’s deeply tied to my belief in the principles I hold dear and the work I’ve poured my heart into over the years. To my soon-to-be ex-colleagues at Meta, my thoughts are with you as you navigate these challenging times. It’s heartbreaking to see the things we’ve built and valued being set aside. I know how difficult it is to feel constrained, or effect change when your hands may feel tied. Please know you are not alone. Hopefully, this is a passing time. To anyone who might be feeling uncertain about the future: this moment doesn’t define your worth. Your skills, your dedication, and your values remain your strongest assets, and I’m confident they will guide you to incredible opportunities ahead. As I step forward into this new chapter, I want to extend my support to anyone who might need it—a conversation, a connection, or just someone to listen. We’re all in this together. Here’s to new beginnings and staying true to what matters most.

I never thought working at Meta would give me this much. (Never even imagine) What’s it like working at Meta? For me, it’s about three things: 1. Learning from inspiring businesses 2. Solving tough challenges 3. Meeting amazing people The people are the best part. Clients, partners, colleagues, even a random guy I met in the kitchen. Accidental connections turn into friendships. These relationships make my work enjoyable. I learn from them every day. They inspire me. It’s not always easy to keep up, but I push myself to grow, to sit at the same table with such talented people. Their perspectives challenge me. It takes effort to understand, but it’s worth it. 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒋𝒐𝒃 —and it’s fun when you’re surrounded by brilliant minds. PS: I wanted to tag people to show my gratitude, but the list was too long, and I didn’t want to miss anyone. One Year Ago, I Took the Leap A year ago, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life: leaving Meta to start my own company (more about that soon). It was a leap into the unknown. I wasn’t sure where it would lead, but I knew I wanted to think bigger - to build something meaningful and impactful. Now, a year in, I can look back and see how much I’ve grown. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been rewarding. I’ve learned a lot about leadership, teamwork, and what really drives success. One lesson that stands out? The power of ownership. When people feel ownership over their work, everything changes. They’re more engaged, more productive, and more accountable. And accountability is critical, because no matter how hard you try, you can’t control every detail or predict every challenge. Talent is important, of course, but talent alone isn’t enough. Ownership makes the difference. It’s what transforms a project from “good enough” to something truly exceptional. This year has been humbling, full of challenges and learning moments. But I’m grateful for the journey and the people who’ve been part of it. What’s a lesson you’ve learned in the past year that’s stuck with you?

A little more than 5.5 years ago, I took my first real job and joined Meta after spending the first 2 decades of my career as an entrepreneur. I took a leap of faith on Meta, and it certainly took one on me. As I look back over my tenure, I can say it is one of the best professional decisions I have ever made. I’ve grown tremendously as a leader and have had a front-row seat to what world-class execution, strategy, and people management looks like.  While I thought/planned for my time at Meta to last (at least) another 5 years, I came across a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at a one-of-one company. The first time I met Andrew Bialecki, I was blown away at his blend of humility, depth, and passion. It rapidly became clear to me that he’s someone I’d love to learn from and partner with. Sometimes things just click, and they did with both Andrew and the rest of the Klaviyo team. I am drawn to the company’s deep customer centricity, passion for the craft of building great products, and bold ambition. To that end, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be joining Klaviyo as Chief Product Officer in mid-November.  A huge thank you to my many Meta colleagues and mentors for the lessons and opportunities that have made my time at Meta so meaningful. I’ve had the great fortune of learning from exceptional leaders at the company. In particular: 1. The importance of diving deep (including reading every appendix and linked document!), being decisive, and having a sense of humor from Stephane Kasriel. 2. That you can lead an extremely high-performing organization and still be kind and thoughtful from John Hegeman.   3. The importance of extreme clarity, rigorous execution, and frameworks that are truly MECE from Andrew Bocking I’ll be cheering you all on and I know you’ll do the same for me as I take on this new role!

When I started at Meta, I wanted to make an impact and contribute as quickly as I could. Normal right? But I realized I was putting too much pressure on myself and after a conversation with a teammate, he gave me the advice to "Move Slow to Move Fast" That stuck with me and helped me frame my onboarding in a different way. I knew that if I wanted to really "Contribute" in a meaningful way, I needed to build a strong foundation first. I needed an understanding of our dashboards, our data tables, tools that are being used, the problems that exist, the priorities, etc. My goal wasn't to understand everything about those topics, it was just "enough" where I felt I had a strong understanding of the big picture. So next time you are starting a job, my advice would be to focus on really building a strong foundation, as this is the very thing that will set you up for long term success!

FIVE YEARS AT META TODAY. FIVE THINGS I LEARNED SO FAR - working with the talented, authentic, and generous people I met here and who helped me grow (thank you all!) 1.   Creating with people completely different from you is one the most creative things you can do. Creators, diversity and inclusion are powerful ways to expand your brain and your reach. 2.   Ideas are only 10% of the process; execution is 20%. Selling them with empathy is 70%. Ideas are the most important asset we can all have – if we can keep them alive. The hardest, most sophisticated part is making your peers, clients, and audience see your vision and speak their language. 3. Being one step ahead only works if you don't mind being run over; look from above instead. Being fast is fun and exciting. It's also inevitably sloppy. Craft requires refining ideas from prototype to alpha to beta, using all the information and taste you can gather. 4. The future will be what people want it to be, not what companies build or gurus predict. Listen less to forecasts and observe more your family, friends, and audience more; if real people like it, it will succeed – that's how fashion, arts, and music work. 5. Intelligence is more than just applying knowledge; it's about how you leverage imagination. Smart people learn, but wise people create things that truly matter to others. The magic happens when you can do both (and no, it's not easy.) - Let's go for more!
