Tom Butler’s Post

I have a confession to make! Did you know #ThinkPad has moved to completely plastics free packaging as we embrace a transition to a circular economy of "reduce, reuse, recycle"? As part of our journey we pioneered innovative bamboo and sugarcane fiber packaging that is not only recyclable, but also rapid COMPOSTABLE where possible! Now here's the confession: when we launched these boxes, I had some fun testing the compostable part. I placed the boxes in my wife’s flower garden (I didn’t ask for permission, just forgiveness). Now, to be fair, I placed them on top of the ground, not mixed in to the soil, so I’m not aiming for rapid. I wanted to see what these looked like after one and then two years. The results look like a school science project — but they highlight Lenovo’s commitment to driving sustainable innovation into our industry! #Sustainability

I LOVE when I can put packaging in my compost bin and use it for soil later! I always remember the brands that use it.
