Lots of genAI makes me eye roll so hard I risk tearing my optic nerve. ML has its place, GenML only looks like it has a place. On the one hand I should keep quiet and land a fat pay day. On the other I have a sense of ethics and want the people paying me to benefit from the work I do. There is a reason the number one item on our ML project check list is a cost benefit analysis.

I'm getting bored of every single tool, app or website I use trying to make me do *something* with AI. Am I representative of the market as a whole? I don't know. But I can tell you that Google's AI search results which are (a) incorrect and (b) push the stuff I actually want beyond the fold are infuriating. And being nudged by my phone to use AI to compose text messages to my mum actually offends me. That's not an admin task. I don't want to outsource relationships with my family. Even here on LinkedIn I'm being prompted to, first, write my post with AI, and then to rewrite it with AI once it's done. Rude. These tools need to be opt out. As in, give me a big 'Go away and don't come back' button to smash, at least. #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #GenerativeAI
