Millennial marketing is so 2001 and that’s not fetch. Music Videos hitting the Gen Z lens. Jack Harlow’s new song Hello Miss Johnson is exclusively shot on Ring doorbell cameras. And why is this significant you ask? It’s not only that it fits with the strong trend of returning to older and “retro” recording devices, digital cameras and camcorders, however, it is based around the everyday reality of peoples lives. It is not flashy, it is not idealizing a lifestyle or demonstrating that you will never get this lalala. Gen Z are far more focused on romanticizing their routine and/or normal aspects of their lives. Artists need more support than ever, but are getting less support than ever. Labels are downsizing. They’re not signing talent most of the time until they have done a great deal of work to market themselves and build their own fan base. Then once you get signed, a lot of that work is still placed upon the artist. I can’t tell you how many artists I see left to fend on their own with the guidance “go make TikToks” but are given no support or budget to go on that endeavor. This is a big opportunity for people building businesses and/or wanting to work into music. Your support and help is needed! Figure out how to get in there and help artists. If you figure out help just one artist in a meaningful way, people will hear about you… I promise! #musicindustry #musicbusiness

As a Coke Studio fan boy, I grew up listening to Coke Studio classicals always marvelled by the studio set up, instruments, and the compositions themselves. Never did the "Coke" brand intrude the actual content. As I started understanding "branding" better, I started appreciating the subtle brand inclusion that came along with the show. I was amazed by how "Coke" didn't scream but became synonymous with the melodious performances. The article below, delves into the business logic.
