Meet the Founder: Empowering Higher Education with AI Our founder, J.D. Mosley-Matchett of InforMaven.AI a current Cohort 9 participant at The Boost Pad, is a 30-year veteran of higher education who has embarked on a mission to help colleges and universities tackle the overwhelming challenges brought by increasing regulations and decreasing resources. Instead of offering another complex software solution, she’s empowering administrators to harness the power of AI through no-code automations—without needing a technical background. Like many solo entrepreneurs, one of the biggest challenges Dr. Mosley-Matchett faced was overcoming the echo chamber of working alone. That’s where The Boost Pad has played a crucial role. Through its structure, mentorship, and collaborative environment, The Boost Pad has provided her with the support and focus she needed to shape her business strategy. The weekly meetings, especially the Business Model Canvas sessions, have been pivotal in keeping her aligned with her goals. #theboostpadcohort9 #theboostpad #minorityownedbusiness #bipocbusiness

One month into my return to school after 7 years, and the Innovation Science course has already reshaped my view on tech innovation. We're deep into the concept of lily padding, especially around 6G technology—identifying "low hanging fruits" through purpose-context maps and Significance-Headroom graphs. This approach bridges my startup event experiences with academic insights, highlighting the strategic paths for 6G's potential impact. Revisiting the science and theory has reignited my passion for learning and connecting theory with real-world application. Studying why I did, what I did everyday is so satisfying and empowering to overcome future challenges. #BackToSchool #6GTechnology #innovationculture #lifelonglearning

Sometimes, the way someone words something can take a truth and just crystalize it, make it more memorable, and inspire even the choir to redouble its efforts. 🎆 That is how I reacted when Melissa Vito -- Vice Provost for Academic Innovation at The University of Texas at San Antonio -- talked about her mindset as a higher ed leader. She was speaking on a panel at the 100 Year EdTech Project 2024 Design Summit last week in Scottsdale. "We’re in a perpetual beta state." 💛 I love this quote because it's does more than a more general statement such as "we're always changing" or "innovation is good." It emphasizes the mentality of impermanence and the centrality of a continuous learning orientation. Those things are integral and more to the point than the change itself -- although that part also matters. 👣 I also thought it was good because a beta state is a thing. An explicit phase. And that means we can think of the beta states of various organizations, projects, and products and borrow ideas and hard lessons. Dr. Vito is on the right in this photo. Also pictured are Angela Gunder, Ph.D. and Javier Nó Sánchez. Photo credit to Michael Sanchez from ASU Enterprise Technology -- which LinkedIn is maddeningly not allowing me to tag. And, am I done with my posts on the #100yredtechproject? No way. #edtech #students #growth

This edtech market is so broken! So, here's another ratcheting up towards market maturation via adding programs evidence. What's inside the program "black box"? What are the nuances of what it does, why, how, and what impacts for whom? Spoiler alert: this is multi-factor, no factor is binary black & white, and there still isn't and will never be a silver bullet. Sorry. I'm claiming this is inevitable and is accelerating right now: the market is going to mature into a healthy state; towards continuous improvement of impacts and equity. An illuminating panel discussion unpacks some issues and some novel insights, visits the value of evidence documentation & certification, and indulges in strategic solution-path vision-casting at an international scale. Featuring: Natalia Kucirkova of www.wikit.no, Parker Van Nostrand of Digital Promise, and panelists Maria Barron of The World Bank, Louisa Rosenheck of Kahoot! and yours truly of MIND Education. Hey everyone! 👋 Excited to share insights from my recent workshop at Purdue University and Catapul hackathon, where we delved into the fascinating world of LLMS (Language Model Systems) and the tools to craft custom agents. Here's a breakdown of what we covered: Understanding Reason Action Observation Loops: We kicked off by diving deep into the technical aspects of Reason Action Observation loops, a crucial concept in developing intelligent systems. By grasping this framework, participants gained a solid foundation in building interactive and responsive agents. Crafting Custom Prompts and Parsers: Next up, we explored the art of crafting custom prompts and parsers tailored to our specific applications. This step is pivotal as it allows us to fine-tune our agents to understand and respond effectively to user inputs, enhancing the overall user experience. Leveraging Open-Source Frameworks like LangChain: In our quest for rapid development, we didn't overlook the wealth of resources offered by open-source frameworks. LangChain emerged as a standout example, empowering developers to streamline the development process and accelerate innovation. From Concept to Startup: One of the highlights of the workshop was the journey from conceptualization to startup realization. We demonstrated how to translate customer requirements and innovative ideas into a rapid development cycle, leveraging LLMS to power a startup concept. By embracing agility and creativity, participants learned how to transform ideas into tangible solutions with remarkable speed and efficiency. In essence, our workshop provided participants with the tools and knowledge to embark on their entrepreneurial journey armed with the latest advancements in LLMS technology and open-source frameworks. The possibilities are truly limitless, and I can't wait to see the groundbreaking innovations that emerge from this talented cohort! Stay tuned for more exciting updates and workshops. Until then, keep innovating! 💡✨ #LLMS #OpenSource #StartupDevelopment #Innovation #PurdueUniversity #CatapulHackathon #TechWorkshop #PhD
