Here are a few quick facts about the ongoing Salt Lake Temple renovation project: ☀️ ➔ Temple Square is open to the public. Surrounding buildings, such as the Conference Center, Church History Museum, Tabernacle, Church History Library, and Family Search Library, remain open. Crews are beginning to wrap up construction in: ➔ two baptistries ➔ baptistry chapel ➔ celestial rooms ➔ sealing rooms ➔ The underground addition to the temple has an additional 100,000 square feet. ➔ The temple will have two baptistries instead of one and 22 sealing rooms (where marriages occur), up from 13. ➔ Visitors may now see a new statue installed on Temple Square. The Come, Follow Me statue is located north of the Tabernacle. Many new statues will be added throughout 2025 and 2026. I hope that the local members there will make it a priority to use this temple fully. 23 sealing rooms is a lot, especially considering the other nearby temples.
This will be terrific when it is finally complete. We've waited a long time. I can't wait to go back when it's open again.
My dream is to see and feel this building one day. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The ‘FamilySearch Library’ is a huge draw for visitors to Temple Square. The Temple will be as well when it opens up for tours before dedication.
Looking forward to the completion of this project so the restoration can continue to unfold.
I had the privilege of being married there in 1986. Almost 40 years later, I’m so excited to go back! It’s been thrilling to watch the changes in this global church/community as followers of Christ.
A few months ago, I visited Temple Square with my wife and children. When we saw the raised granite circles north of the Tabernacle, we assumed they were for photo ops. But now we realize they were meant for the new Come, Follow Me statue. It’s exciting to see the progress of the renovation!
Please tell apostles. do not change the old design when you guys are renovating. I like old temple as same building style.
