Thank you for noticing that I am interested in a new opportunity. (I’m curious though, what gave it away? Was it the green banner? My posts about the job search?) It feels good to be noticed. Despite the huge number of job seekers, you see me. You see my struggle, my frustration, and my desire to be gainfully employed. I am looking for a position in Benefits Management. You are definitely on the right track with your suggestion of Director of Benefits. I feel the need to utilize your second suggestion as a teachable moment. (I was a teacher in my first career, it doesn’t ever fully go away.) As a human being, the job title I might get would be called Senior Benefits Administrator and the job I’d do is Senior Benefits Administration. Both are nouns but one refers to the person and one refers to the set of tasks. Just so you know. I’ve been considering a change since September 20, the day I got laid off. I absolutely have specific locations in mind. (By the way, both of these facts can be easily found in my LI profile. Do you know what that is?) My previous job was fully Remote, and I loved it. But I am open to in person work and can commute to Northern NJ, Westchester, and Manhattan. There are several factors that are important to me. I so appreciate your asking. I am looking for an environment that thrives on excellence while welcoming the learning process. So that it is okay, even more than okay, to ask questions and make mistakes alongside a goal of stellar achievement. In my role as a Human Resources Professional, I want the HR department to strive to mitigate the all-too-common dislike of HR by listening, respecting, and valuing employees at all levels. Something I love to do is highlight the employees at the City that sometimes go under the radar. I believe EVERYONE who does their job deserves recognition. Residents unfortunately often take these “normal and necessary” jobs for granted. I’ve seen comments on posts such as this that say “Every City paves their streets. This doesn’t deserve recognition.” Don’t YOU want to be recognized for even just getting to work on time? EVERYONE deserves praise when they’re doing their job. So next time you see someone even just barely going above and beyond, tell them that you see them and that you’re grateful. Today I am celebrating the first anniversary of the start of my recruiting career with EHS Recruiting Company!
