How to be a successful SDR? How to build a sales pipeline? Step 1: Ensure our product contexts and understand current merchant use cases; Step 2: Understand Each Industry and Confirm Target Industry; Step 3: Make Target Account List, understand your target accounts' situation and qualify them from your side; Step 4: Understand where we can find these prospects as soon as possible? Whether they have already used solutions with other vendors who we have already got some contacts with?(If yes, go ahead asking these vendors directly, don't be shy or you waste your own time!) Whether the prospect roles are related to some marketing events and check whether we can find speakers' names online. Go to these target marketing events as well! If there is no other way, we need to do find their contacts through any other way including online prospecting tools including Hunter.io, Prospect, Zoominfo, Lusha... Step 5: Weekly Sequence to your target account contacts including cold emails, cold calls, online event notifications to let them know your product and know you! Wish I got a 💶 every time I heard that sentence… As a SDR Manager, it is truly frustrating. Your team is sweating it out, booking 5 stars meetings with the right persona at a target account. And you feel like AEs just blow it in one call like it was nothing. Can’t blame them, though... Shifting from full inbound and partner-warmed-up leads to cold outbound can be a real challenge for sales teams if not properly prepared. Handling cold outreach meetings as if they were inbound leads is a common mistake. This approach can quickly tank your conversion rate, frustrate the entire team, and kill your company image. Here are some key tips for succeeding in cold outreach meetings: ❌ Avoid using BANT, MEDDIC or similar qualification methods during the first contact. Unless you're lucky, your prospects probably aren’t in the market for a solution yet. 🩺 Focus on the pain that SDR has identified. It's the only leverage you have at this stage. 🏗️ Remember: the prospect has a problem, you have the solution. It's up to you to create the project! When I was an SDR with a manage IT service providor I got the team in front of the CIO for a small city here in Ontario. They were around 500-1000 employees with multiple locations. How I went about securing a meeting with this CIO by doing the following: 1. Collaborated with the founder of the MSP as it was a founder lead company on who we wanted to target. 2. Identified which service would make the most sense to go in with & talk about. 3. Built a list from scratch without using any of the data vendors to identify my targets. Since we were targeting a very specific pool of prospects I was performing a lot of research. 4. Once I had my list built I only had the government's name. I googled their website as their websites listed the executive teams & their direct line or extension. 5. I called the prospect. Being a CIO this persona is often extremely busy & is difficult to get on the phone. I created a 10 touch call sequence over the corse of a month & sprinkled in some emails as well. I also left voicemails. 6. I think it was about the 6 maybe 7th attempt I finally reached the prospect & shared why I was calling. The service I was positioning addressed some of the prospect's challenges & they were considering a partner. Since this was a government organization they required budget approval. I landed the meeting wi& my founder went through an extensive process to land the opportunity. A couple things here that were & are very valuable for anyone doing outbound. Collaboration is important to ensure everyone is on the same page with messaging, target, offering, strategy etc. If you are targeting a transactional client who offers a product with a low ACV high volume prospecting works.
