Grateful to be back at Princeton guest lecturing in Professor Shahram Hejazi’s VC class last week! I designed a case study where 50 students embraced the role of LPs, analyzing two early-stage VC funds and choosing one for investment. Before class, they reviewed brief materials and cast a preliminary vote. We then discussed key investment principles—lessons from four turning points in my career, four key tenets of my investing philosophy from Princeton, and four main areas of due diligence. These same principles continue to guide my work today. After a final vote, we debated what strengthened conviction, what changed minds, and what additional diligence they would like to explore. Very much enjoyed seeing Professor Hejazi’s students tackle these funds with fresh perspectives!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and story with the class!
Looking good, Professor!
Sounds like an amazing class, Ted. Congratulations.
