We need more creators on this app. I’m tired of seeing commentary about creators from the people who make money off them.

I really wanna see more 20 year experience folks start sharing their perspectives. The 30 and under crowd is well represented, but there’s so much wisdom we could all learn from the 50-60 year olds, who’ve been in their careers for 20-30 years.

I think the biggest blocker is people are afraid to bring their full selves to Linkedin. They may be worried about how they look to current, and future employers and previous co-workers. Yes, LinkedIn is the new Facebook but that is also why there is so much copy/past of topics that people cover. They're terrified of standing in their truth. Especially now since employers can discriminate based on anything chile..

I think a lot of us on LinkedIn (and the internet in general) forget that many creators are doing every step of the process for themselves. It’s so easy to slip into a commentator role when you don’t think about what goes into the process. Not only is there a level of skill involved in producing the final asset(s) and messaging that gets published to a feed but there’s also business acumen involved in negotiating deals and partnerships, understanding how to blend your personal brand/persona with the brand or product you’re creating for, and skill involved in pitching yourself to brands in the first place.

Jesus be a fence. Tameka Bazile I was just talking to someone about this yesterday, LinkedIn has gone from being a place that was strictly about work, cut to the murder of Brotha Floyd, the flood gates open where everyone has a think piece or soliloquy about an industry that continuously has been built off the backs of creators, minority groups of said group that are still being undervalued and overlooked for the "others" in the room, there's a tone-deafness to a lot of the content promoted on here, bringing creators into this space would be like touching grass because the experiences are lived and built from their own hands versus the constant politically driven game of thrones from those that have a seat of power to constantly overshare their approach and perspective... Respectfully. You said a lot with saying a little, thanks for the spark!

I’ve been creating here for a while. Before UGC was a thing. I started going hard a few years ago when my mentees challenged the group to consistent video making. Since then, I’ve developed and sharpened so many skills and try to support techies building their reputation, influence and tech skills. A lot of folks are afraid to share or feel they don’t know what to share. My motto: Just press record. My kids got me on twitch cooking while I talk tech and just being generally real about everything. I’m too ripe to care 💕😂
