⚠️ New obligations for #marketplaces - implementation of the #Digital Service Act and the #Market Service Act in France. The DGCCRF - Ministère de l'Économie is gaining more power thanks to the SREN Act (https://lnkd.in/gQmjs_9W). 👉🏽 Transparency and Information: - Platforms must provide clear and transparent information about products and sellers, including contact details, reviews, and warranties. - They must also disclose if they favor certain sellers or products. 👉🏽 Security Measures: - Online marketplaces must implement measures to prevent the sale of dangerous or counterfeit products. - They should actively monitor listings and respond promptly to any issues. 👉🏽 Reporting Illicit Content: - Platforms must establish effective reporting procedures for illicit content (e.g., counterfeit products, hate speech, etc.). - They must take swift action to remove such content. 👉🏽 Collaboration with Authorities: - The DGCCRF can request information from platforms and compel them to cooperate in investigations. - Platforms are expected to collaborate with authorities to ensure consumer safety. 👉🏽 Sanctions: - Non-compliance with these obligations may result in financial penalties of up to 6% of global revenue. https://lnkd.in/gC_9iyd5
