Team can't see what's happening. Hours burn on debugging. Everyone gets more cautious about deploys. Next deployment needs more review. More testing. More meetings. Ship speed craters. When a small team slows down, you lose. Simple as that. But when your team can go from alert to root cause in minutes? They keep shipping with confidence. That's the real tax of poor observability - it's not the debugging time, it's the slow death of deployment confidence. We're winning by staying fast. And you can't stay fast if you're flying blind.
