After nearly 18 years at Shell, I’ve said goodbye to many great colleagues, friends, and mentors. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences and development opportunities along the way. It feels like the right time to broaden my horizon at a different organisation, and begin an exciting new chapter in my career. The past three years have been particularly rewarding and challenging in equal measure. Under Sinead Lynch ‘s leadership and alongside Karel Kapoun , Andrew Murfin , Sheida Khajavi , James H. , Nigel Dickens , Francois Derks and Dipika Patel, and together with the many incredible people in as well as alongside our community, we set out to accelerate Shell’s low-carbon fuels journey and build a new organisation to deliver our purpose led strategy. There are many valuable lessons that can be applied to any business focused on sustainability. Reflecting on this, I believe the three key barriers and opportunities for success are: 1. Regulatory and demand stability – Creating stability across markets is essential. This often requires a strong policy and advocacy strategy to build greater certainty. 2. Funding long-term, high-risk investments – Establishing financial frameworks that accommodate the inherent risks of large-scale investment is crucial for progress in this space. 3. Leadership and partnership – Navigating such a complex environment requires collective effort. It takes leaders who instill urgency, equip their organisations with the right tools and knowledge, and foster partnerships. No single organisation can achieve a sustainable future alone. I’d love to hear others’ thoughts and reflections. To all my colleagues at Shell, I wish you great success and good fortune for the future!

The past two days really was inspiring & motivating! 💪 💡 To be honest, I’ve always struggled with traditional classroom learning. I’ve never quite mastered how to stay focused and absorb information when someone is simply talking at a group. In fact, most of my school days were spent in the corridor, thinking or memorising posters just to keep myself entertained because I was too disruptive in class. 🙂 So, as you can imagine, my mind was racing the morning of the training... 😵💫 - How on earth am I going to manage this... as a fully grown adult? 😅😰🤮 Well, turns out, the training was exceptional! 👏 🤯 How? Delivered with passion, authenticity, and an energy that kept me engaged which helped absorb the key takeaways. 🔑 🤯 Fun was incouraged ☑️ Information was broken down into manageable chunks ☑️ Visual aids were used effectively ☑️ Hand outs were provided ☑️ Questions were encouraged ☑️ Frequent movement kept us engaged ☑️ Each session had a clear structure with defined timeframes ☑️ Real-life & relatable scenarios & solutions were discussed ☑️ GAMES! ☑️ This approach created a diverse and inclusive learning environment that catered to different styles & kept the entire experience dynamic, focused, and most importantly, fun!
