This post got me thinking about Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs offers valuable insight into employee motivation and satisfaction in the workplace. This psychological framework can help us understand why some employees feel demotivated, while others are content and motivated to excel.
When an employee struggles with basic needs like food, shelter, and rest, their focus remains on survival. If an employee’s salary isn’t sufficient to cover these necessities, they have little energy left for career advancement.
On the flip side, when their basic needs are met, employees can focus on higher-level goals, like improving their skills and achieving professional growth.
And this is just looking at Maslow's hierarchy from the perspective of physiological needs—we haven't even considered the other levels yet.
