Leading our next generation of entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals! Thank you Bryan Hill for inviting me to speak at the "Chat w/Teens from CLEVELAND ISD Career Accelerator''. You know when I am in my element when speaking to our young people. And what a bonus bumping into our Cup of Joey friend Dr. Rosalyn R. Francis who is pioneering some great learning opportunities for our next gens. To all my LinkedIn family, you can inspire our next generation through so many ways and it doesn't always have to be through speaking engagements. It can be by just showing up and letting them see through YOU what is possible for them! Here are other ways to motivate and inspire our Gen Z's and Generation Alpha: 1. Accept request for info sessions. A 15-minute call or virtual meetup. 2. Offer internship opportunities: the best learning is the hands-on approach. There is a good way and also a not so good way to offer internships. More on this on another time. 3. Invite them to shadow you for a day and allow them to ask questions not just about your typical day, but what motivates you, what inspires you, how your career or job is making an impact on the world or your community and also share the not so fun part of your career. This will give them a better understanding of what your career path entails. 4. Job opportunities: Of course, if you can give them the opportunity to earn money while they learn even better. 5. Contact your local high school's and colleges to see what are other ways you can connect and inspire our young people. 6. CONNECT WITH ME as I love being the connecting piece for the student's I serve. I don't always know all the answers but I do know how to connect my students with people like YOU, the expert in the field and I am so grateful for each and every one of you! But most importantly, get involved to allow #learning beyond the classroom. If you know of a High School, College Students, or College Grads who could benefit from a supportive community to help them grow and learn as they transition into their future careers, share my podcast College and Career Ready Podcast found on Apple Podcast or Spotify and they can also join the College and Career Connections Club which is our free support of resources: https://lnkd.in/gQ9W_g7c Are you currently working in ways to inspire our #nextgeneration of entrepreneurs, business owners or professionals? I'd love to hear more so comment and share. Hasta Pronto my friend!

Graduate opportunities may be decreasing... 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴. First, it is important to distinguish the difference between Corporate and Startup 'career building' while at university. When applying to corporates you’re programmed to inflate your achievements. 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘴? They couldn't care less about your '𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴'. Let me explain. I remember pulling an all-nighter in my second year at UCL, frantically writing a CV for summer internships. 𝗜 𝘀𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: "𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘯 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦?" 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙄 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙖𝙮? "𝘐 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥'𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘣𝘺 23%, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 150𝘬 𝘈𝘙𝘙 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴?" Ridiculous, right? But let’s be honest — we’ve all done it. Getting on the corporate ladder these days feels like a game of 'Achievement Bingo'. 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱? It’s no wonder that students in their early years of university feel the need to inflate their experience to keep up. I’m not blaming corporates — 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘴? Whole different ball game. After speaking to 250+ startup founders, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: Can you break some sh*t, learn from it, and do it again? 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵? What you've tried out in your career doesn’t really matter. • Ski instructor • Babysitter • Bartender These were my 4 work experiences at 20. Beyond the badge of my university, it was all the leverage I had to pursuade startups to let me work for them. The magic then lies in how you piece your experiences together into a story that shows '𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵'. Otherwise known as storytelling. 𝗡𝗼𝘄, 𝗜 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴: "𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘧 𝘯𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵?" Fair point. Well… good thing we’ve got you covered. We’re launching Grads Building Companies — a community for students and recent grads ready to build companies alongside the best young founders in the UK. 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼: • Raise capital AND/OR • Get hired Whilst all the graphs show that graduate job opportunites are decreasing... We are working our hardest to find the roles you don't see on the traditional job boards. And they are all up for grabs in our community. Talented people are everywhere, not just in big cities. That's why supporting local talent is so important. When companies invest in local talent, they contribute to the growth of the community. Moreover, this has a direct impact on the economy. By supporting and nurturing talent in the area, companies: - Create job opportunities - Provide training and development - Offer mentorship and guidance This helps to strengthen the community and build a better future for everyone. So, don't forget the importance of supporting local talent. Whether it's through internships, scholarships, mentorship, or training programs, your efforts can make a huge difference. #MSME #SME #BusinessOwners #Entrepreneurs #StartupFounders #SmallBusiness #BusinessGrowth #BusinessLeadership #StartupCommunity #SmallBusinessOwners #Entrepreneurship #BusinessDevelopment #CompanyFounders #BusinessSuccess #Leadership #Innovation #StartupLife #Enterprise #BusinessStrategy #ScalingUp #Directors #GrowthPartners

Yesterday, I had the privilege of being part of the Career PowerUP! event by e2i, where I met and served residents and job seekers who visited our booth. It was a meaningful and fun day, made even more special by the amazing colleagues in this picture who supported and energized me throughout. I want to take a moment to reflect and share some thoughts for anyone seeking inspiration for their career journey: 1️⃣ Find Meaning in Your Work Work becomes fulfilling when it aligns with what you’re passionate about and brings you joy. For me, it’s about doing work that uplifts others positively. Take time to reflect on what drives you, it’s a powerful compass for finding or shaping a meaningful career. 2️⃣ Treasure the People You Work With We spend so much time at work, often more than with our loved ones. Surrounding yourself with people who inspire and support you can transform how you experience work. A great team can make challenges easier to face and successes more rewarding to celebrate. 3️⃣ Embrace the Journey, Not Just the Destination Entrepreneurship has taught me this in the most profound way. Taking the leap into the unknown isn’t easy. There are sacrifices - long hours, missed time with loved ones, and letting go of luxuries, but these choices have allowed me to build something I believe in. If you’re chasing your dreams, know that the journey itself will shape you in ways you can’t imagine. 4️⃣ Invest in Growth Events like this are opportunities to learn and grow. Whether you’re job-seeking, pivoting in your career, or building something new, stay open to experiences that challenge and inspire you. I hope these insights resonate with those of you navigating your career paths. If you’re still searching for your next step, don’t lose faith. Take the time to align your goals with what truly makes you happy. You’re worth that investment. Looking forward to continuing this journey at the NTUC Career Festival 2025 and connecting with even more individuals eager to shape their futures. 💪 #CareerPowerUp #e2i #CareerFestival2025 #Inspiration #CareerGrowth #EntrepreneurshipJourney
