“People don’t listen to me”, is a common tone of the leaders in the organizations. We get things, once people understand what we truly mean. Yesterday, it was a great feeling to see the engagement. Contributed as my offer and puja to humanity. The contribution was to bring understanding about a deep subject in simplistic terms. The subject was: How to communicate? We suffer, #businesses struggle, situations get out of hand. One aspect that can be of super help, once we absorb the framwwork of #communication. #leadership #startups

I had the privilege of joining Lauren Basler for her founder interview series, where we talked about the journey of building CareerOS and the role culture plays in shaping a company. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that culture doesn’t happen by accident. It’s something you create intentionally—through the rituals, conversations, and values you uphold every single day. At CareerOS, one of our key rituals is a bi-weekly battle. Every two weeks, the co-founders come together for a no-holds-barred session where we air concerns, address conflicts, and push ourselves to be better. The rules are simple: 👉 Nothing is personal. 👉 Every concern is valid. 👉 The focus is on building a better company. And yes, these sessions can get heated—that’s by design. Friction isn’t something to avoid; it’s something to embrace. It’s how you smooth out the rough edges, solve problems before they grow, and keep pushing forward as a team. Building something special isn’t easy. It’s messy, it’s challenging, and it takes effort to ensure the hard conversations happen when they need to. But that’s what makes the journey worthwhile. Check out the first video in Lauren’s series (below) for more on the rituals and lessons that keep us moving forward.
Empowering Startup Leaders to Create Connected Cultures | Founder @ Conscious Ascent | Leadership Coach | Ex Chief of Staff | MBA
I met Marcus Castro last year at the EU-Startups Summit. He was at the beginning of his journey building CareerOS when we first met and it was clear that he was incredibly intentional about building this company. When I started this founder interview series, I knew that I wanted to speak with Marcus about his journey given his awareness of the importance of culture from the start. There were plenty of wisdom nuggets in our conversation but one that impressed me was his understanding of the value of ritual in business. Here he shares one of the rituals at CareerOS, The Bi-weekly Battle - a designated space where the leadership team meets to put everything on the table. The rules are simple: nothing is personal, every concern is valid, and the focus stays on building a better company. These sessions often get heated, and that's by design. As Marcus puts it, friction isn't just inevitable when building something special - it's necessary. But by creating a regular container for constructive conflict, issues don't fester and problems don't hide in the shadows. #StartupCulture #Leadership #TeamBuilding #StartupLife #FounderLessons

Don’t be impressed by leaders that are good at solving problems 🛠️ Instead look out for the leaders that magically have *no problems* in their org because they solve issues before they arise ❤️ Easy to mistake the former for skill and the latter for luck 🍀 #startups #impact #leadership #leadershipinsights

It's not enough for #founders/collaborators to simply be aligned on key #goals — they must be aligned on the *order of priority*. Lack of clarity at the beginning is only a recipe for conflict later, particularly when tough decisions have to be made. Nailing the order of priority also helps uncover what deeper #values are at play for each person in a very concrete way, that simply reaching high-level alignment around values rarely achieves. #executivecoaching #leadership #startup
