Security operations management represents a $500B total addressable market with only a ~5% current penetration today. 🚀 LATEST FUNDING/M&A IN CYBERSECURITY 🚀 With the public holiday last week, activity certainly was down but there was another cyber start-up acquisition to note for the books. Noetic Cyber was acquired by Rapid7. Noetic Cyber was a key figurehead in innovating the CAASM (cyber asset attack surface management) space. This acquisition will enhance Rapid7's existing stack to include more visibility into both internal and external assets. This is the 2nd acquisition in the last month for the CAASM space, the last being NetSPI acquiring Hubble. This is Rapid7's 13th acquisition, with the last one being Minerva Labs (Acquired by Rapid7) for $45M in March 2023, and IntSights, a Rapid7 company in August 2021 for $335M. Congratulations to the Noetic team! They were founded in 2019 and raised a Series A of $20m in 2021 and were backed by Energy Impact Partners, Ten Eleven Ventures & Glasswing Ventures. Another day, another cyber acquisition... Noname Security Noname Security, a startup known for its cutting-edge API protection, is reportedly in advanced discussions with Akamai Technologies for an acquisition valued at $500 million. Founded in 2020 by Oz Golan and Shay Levi and based in Palo Alto with strong Israeli roots, Noname Security has quickly become a notable name in tech. Since its inception, the company has successfully raised $220 million from top-tier venture investors. In December 2021, following a Series C funding round led by Georgian and Lightspeed, Noname reached a valuation of $1 billion. While the proposed sale price reflects a discount from its peak valuation, the all-cash deal highlights the strategic moves in our industry. Congrats to co-founders Jérôme Robert and Edouard Viot. Corgea (YC S23) raised a $2.6m Seed via Shoroog Partners to continue developing and growing their ASPM platform. Well done to Founder Ahmad Sadeddin and the team. Induz raised a $750k Pre-Seed led by YourNest Venture Capital as they soon plan to launch a Confidential IAM product and an integrated data delivery solution. CloudGuard raised an undisclosed venture round via Praetura Ventures Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund as they look to grow their automated cybersecurity platform for SME's, based out of the UK.
