Those of you who follow me know that behavioral traffic safety is my gig, but I gotta give a shout out to the engineers who developed roundabouts. This week the nation is celebrating these circular beauties -- yes, it's National Roundabouts Week. The latest update on their effectiveness comes from Ohio, where the Department of Transportation reports that installing roundabouts at 150 intersections has resulted in injury/fatal crash reductions ranging from 38% to 100%. I take advantage of every opportunity to educate the public not only about the effectiveness of roundabouts, but also how to safely navigate them.
