December's #EANPOTM: Breaking New Ground in MND Research The MND-SMART trial explored the safety and efficacy of memantine and trazodone in treating motor neuron disease (MND). While neither drug significantly slowed disease progression or improved survival, this innovative platform trial design highlights the future of clinical research—efficient, adaptable, and patient-centered. Key Details: ➡️Tested Drugs: Memantine (20 mg), Trazodone (200 mg) ➡️554 patients across 20 UK centers ➡️Results: Safe, well-tolerated, but no efficacy at tested doses. 11moSeer’s Insights Award Program will provide white glove proteomics services from samples to data to 6 researchers. In total we will support 2 studies of 160 samples or 4 studies of 40 samples at Seer’s Technology Access Center (#STAC), where researcher can get access to Seer’s #Proteograph platform and Thermo Fisher Scientific’s #OrbitrapAstral. The combination of these platform can result in up to 8000 or more proteins in plasma, with unmatched depth, reproducibility, accuracy and scale. Huge thanks to Rebecca Rutherford, Tracy Piner, Aaron Gajadhar, PhD and John Hart for making the Insights Award Program a reality for our customers.
