This week’s G20 Finance Ministers meeting was the first to take place under South Africa’s Presidency, and our theme of “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability.” As the world confronts rising threats to multilateral cooperation, it reaffirmed the role of the G20 in securing progress on shared goals. Most importantly, it drew attention to efforts to support developing countries in responding to global crises and challenges and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. We have much work to do in advancing the President’s priorities of debt sustainability, climate finance, disaster resilience and critical minerals - the defining issues of our time.
